Emily Biermann

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Pittsburgh in my 5th year. My work centers on transient science. I am particularly interested in the detection of transients using data from large CMB surveys such as the Atacama Cosmology Telescope and the Simons Observatory. My PhD thesis is on building a pipeline to find transients in these datasets and using them to better understand the mechanisms behind the events. If I’m not doing physics, I’m probably riding a bike.
